Tom Stoppard’s Arcadia

Just reread this 1993 play, prompted by a recent piece in the New Yorker. It’s a wonderful work, probably one of the best dramas of the last 50 years, masterfully blending the past and present in the same setting, exploring sex, truth, and the Second Law of Thermodynamics. Yes, you got that right. You know, entropy and all that – time’s arrow flows one way only. Funny as well, dialogue sharp as a 16 year old mathematickal genius’ female mind. She is unforgettable.
